Marketing and Transfer

Combining Business and Science

The networking of the research partners in the performance center goes beyond collaboration in joint research projects. In order to achieve the essential goal – the sustainable transfer of results to science and industry – we consider the various transfer paths from basic and applied research to industry and society as well as their repercussions on research. Currently, the following transfer paths are being followed.

Transfer-Highlight 2023: Wendeware AG

With »AMPERIX«, Wendeware AG offers a central platform for optimizing energy flows for households and industry. A long-standing research and development cooperation with the Fraunhofer ITWM ensures the continuous transfer of knowledge.

Transfer Paths

Contract Research

  • Industrial contracts: Regular customers and new customer acquisition
  • Industry seminars and conferences
  • Demonstrators and real labs

Licensing (of Property Rights)

  • IP exploitation of software and simulation solutions
  • Licensing business with spin-offs and software companies

Spin-Offs

  • Pioneering simulation and software technologies
  • Closing technological gaps in external start-ups and SMEs

Continuing Education (for Business)

  • Current: Software Engineering, Digital Commercial Vehicle Technology, Deep Learning
  • Coming soon: Industry 4.0, Process Simulation

Heads and Career

  • Promotion of young researchers with the TUK (workshops, lectures, graduate theses)
  • Felix Klein Academy of Mathematics Scholarship Program for Bachelor, Master and PhD)

Science Communication

  • Events Citizen Participation
  • Joint public relations
  • Expert advice for and with politics
  • Scientific publications

  • Coordinated membership in associations (e.g. GI, VDE, IEEE, ACM, Bitkom, ASIM, GAUSS-Allianz, or similar)

To achieve the goals of the last transfer paths, we rely on cooperation with established partners at the location in the areas of spin-offs (Gründungsbüro KL, IHK Pfalz), continuing education (including DISC as a postgraduate distance learning program) and civil society (Science and Innovation Alliance, Zukunftsregion Westpfalz).
