Vehicle R&D teams aim at reducing development cycles to produce a car. The best way to reduce the development time span is to speed up the concept phase. Using simulation tools, it is possible to modify the gradient of increasing maturity of the project without losing quality. Fraunhofer developed a methodology to use CDTire to predict the effect of the tire/rim sizes and tire inflation pressure on the tire characteristics. New ‘virtual tires’ together with the ‘virtual vehicle’ are used to estimate the effect of the tire variations on the vehicle performances (KPIs). The process has been validated by Maserati SpA against vehicle/tires measurements.
TTI Awards 2019: Shortlist with CDTire
Our tool CDTire is on the shortlist of the TTI Awards 2019 in the category »Tire Technology of the Year«. The awards are decided by the votes of a 30-strong panel of experts from the tire industry and academia. The winners will be announced during the Expo at a Gala Dinner in the beautiful Kuppelsaal at the Hannover Congress Centrum, on the evening of March 6.
